A while ago we had an activity at our MIL subject it was a game on the internet called (getbadnews.com) . When I heard about the activity I felt excited because I haven’t played that game before so its new to me. When we started the game at first I was so lazy because there are lots of reading but throughout the game it was fun because it’s interesting to read this kind of news. Being a fake news influencer for an hour is fun. But what is fake news? Fake news, also known as junk news or pseudo-news, is a type of yellow journalism or propaganda that consists of deliberate disinformation or hoaxes spread via traditional news media (print and broadcast) or online social media. The false information is often caused by reporters paying sources for stories, an unethical practice called checkbook journalism. Digital news has brought back and increased the usage of fake news, or yellow journalism. The news is then often reverberated as misinformation in social media but occasionally finds its way to the mainstream media as well.
What I enjoyed in this activity is that we need to get lots of lots followers and complete the 6 badges in the games so every time I get a badge its motivates me to complete those badges and get more followers so It makes me read the statements well.
What I found difficult in this activity is choosing the right answer because when you choose answer that is wrong my followers will be deducted so it makes me analyze and read before choosing the answer.
It’s good to play this kind of game because it lets us know that lots of fake news and misleading information is spreading in social media platforms to end this essay I would like to tell my other friends to play this kind of game to let them know how being a fake news influencer is fun.
